MUTV is giving Manchester United fans a unique opportunity to scout Olympiacos ahead of the Champions League tie between the Barclays Premier League and Greek Superleague champions.
The club’s dedicated television channel has for the first time secured the rights to a European opponent’s domestic games, with two live Olympiacos telecasts in the coming weeks providing insight into United’s Round of 16 opposition.
The two games will include the “Derby of the Eternal Enemies,” against fellow Athens side and fierce rivals Panathinaikos, and a clash with Cretan side Platanias, who are relative newcomers to the Greek Superleague.
Manchester United’s Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for MUTV viewers to get an in-depth look at Olympiacos ahead of our Champions League games in February and March. This is another example of the sort of innovative programming which we hope will interest our fans and get them excited ahead of United’s next European adventure. With partners in 87 territories around the globe, MUTV continues to go from strength to strength.”
United will be playing Olympiacos over two legs in the last 16 of the Champions League on 25 February and 19 March.
