In the second part of this United Review interview, Phil Jones talks about the upcoming festive fixtures and answers fans' questions...
We're in a good position in the league going into a busy Christmas period...
We’re in a fantastic position and it’s exactly where you want to be at this stage. But last season was my first at United and I experienced something I’ve never experienced before. You learn that it’s never, ever over. It’s such a difficult league and, OK, it’s the same old clichés, but we have to concentrate on the game in front of us and keep our feet on the ground, not getting carried away.
So, are you optimistic about the rest of the season?
Absolutely. There are a lot of games coming up and I just want to be involved as much as I can be. The manager talks a lot about the Christmas period being one of the toughest spells of the Premier League season and that to be in a strong position at the turn of the year is vital. We’ve put ourselves in a good position and we need to keep it going. We have to make the most of the position we’re in.
"It's nice if people think one day that [I might become United captain], but there is a long way to go before I can even consider it a possibility. It would be a massive achievement, though."
