The United fans love a winger. Antonio Valencia was Player of the Year in 2012 and there is a real tradition of exciting wide players here..
Yes, there is. I’m going to do my best really. Obviously, the fans see the wingers we have now and the high standard they have. I want to meet that high standard as well.

You had an injury at the start of the Under-21 European Championship. Are you fighting fit now?
I had a bit of a worry with my ankle but it’s showing good signs so I should be alright.

There’s been a lot of talk about clubs being interested in signing you on loan but is it the case that you’ve had to wait to get here and want to impress for United?
Yes. I’ve grafted to get here so Manchester United is where I want to stay.

Finally, is it a big move for you off the pitch as well, heading from London to the north?
I’ve moved away from most of my family and friends but it’s progress. Everyone is going to have to understand. I don’t mind making a move here if it betters my career.
