Five At Five presents five connected video clips at five o'clock every Thursday.
This week, we're marking Wayne Rooney’s 100 goals in club football. Ignoring his Everton tally, and his FA Cup strikes for TV rights reasons, we've shortlisted ten for a poll. The top five goals will be edited together for our video at five o'clock Thursday (17:00 GMT).
1. Fenerbache (Home) - 28 Sep 2004
A hat-trick on his debut and the second is the pick of the bunch. Receiving a pass from the left, Rooney moves infield before firing inside the post.
2. Arsenal (Home) - 24 Oct 2004
Hardly the most spectacular of his career, but hugely significant. A tap in from six yards ends Arsenal’s run of 49 games unbeaten.
3. Liverpool (Away) - 15 Jan 2005
Another goal that is more memorable for the context in which it was scored rather than the goal itself. A powerful shot that slips under Jerzy Dudek and into the net at the Kop end.
4. Newcastle (Home) - 24 April 2005
A 30 yard right-footed volley that draws gasps from the home crowd. The ball drops from a great height and Rooney sends it searing into the top corner. Incredible.
5. Arsenal (Home) - 9 April 2006
Mikael Silvestre curls in a cross which Rooney controls in an instant. A quick look up and he drills the ball on the half volley past the goalkeeper.
6. Bolton (Home) - 17 March 2007
Rooney and Ronaldo pass their way from one end of the field to the other. Faced by the goalkeeper, Rooney deftly lobbs the ball into the net.
