“Patrice has been a key part of the club’s success in the last two seasons. He's developed into one of the best full-backs in world football and his infectious personality has helped build the incredible team spirit that exists at Old Trafford.”

Solid defensively and a potent force in attack, Patrice Evra has developed into the complete left-back…
Patrice Evra is clearly not one to rest on his laurels. One of United’s most consistent performers last season and part of the meanest defence in the land, the Frenchman has begun the 2008/09 campaign in much the same vein as he finished the last.
While a number of Reds have made a relatively steady start to the season, Evra, who signed a four-year contract extension in June, has turned in a host of typically lively displays. A boundless ball of energy and a bright spark both in defence and attack, the left-back has developed into arguably the finest in the Premier League.
It's two-and-a-half years, four major trophies and more than 100 games since he made his bow in the derby in January 2006. And you could be forgiven for thinking you were watching a different player if you compared his performance then to now.
“Some questioned whether he was going to be strong enough to cope in England when he first arrived,” admits
