Sunday's Wembley summit with Everton is United's 26th FA Cup semi-final tie - a competition record. Here's a reminder of the Reds' victories at this stage from 1994 to 2007...
1993/94 United 1 Oldham Athletic 1, Wembley, 10.04.94;
United 4 Oldham 1 (Replay)
Maine Road, 13.04.94
After Oldham seem set fair for the final thanks to a goal by Neil Pointon, under-par United’s bacon is well and truly saved by Sparky’s late, late extra-time equaliser (46 seconds to go) in the first meeting at Wembley. And in the Maine Road rematch, the Latics are sliced and diced. United’s mojo is well and truly restored in a one-sided display; Messrs Giggs, Irwin, Kanchelskis and Robson all find a way to goal and send Royle’s men home to rue what might have been.
1994/95 United 2 Crystal Palace 2, Villa Park, 09.04.95;
United 2 Crystal Palace 0 (Replay) Villa Park, 12.04.95
A season that promised so much on three fronts, agonisingly fails to deliver at the final hurdle. A replay victory over the Londoners at Villa Park, through unlikely goal heroes Bruce and Pallister, is forgotten when Everton consign United to Wembley woe.
