Gallery: Tuesday training

A near full-strength squad took to the pristine lawns of Carrington on Tuesday morning to prepare for the Champions League clash against Wolfsburg.

Michael Owen sat out the session as a precaution after picking up a minor groin strain, while Ji-sung Park missed out with a virus that looks set to keep him out of Wednesday's Group B tie against the Bundesliga champions.

Patrice Evra has also been suffering from the bug since the win over Stoke, but the left-back was full of vigour as he joined 22 other Reds on the training field, under the watchful eye of Sir Alex and his coaches.

Edwin van der Sar enjoyed a solid workout as he steps up his recovery from a broken hand, and the only other absentees were Rafael, Owen Hargreaves and Gabriel Obertan, all of whom are due back in the next few weeks.
