Goals, goals, goals... that's all anyone seems to bang on about these days. And yet a good save can be just as vital to a game's outcome.
"The coaching staff at United are always talking about defining moments in a game," United goalkeeper coach Eric Steele says. "There have been many instances this season where our goalkeeper's made a save at a vital point in the game and we've then gone on to win."
But which stop ranks as the best in 2009/10? Three men – Ben Foster, Tomasz Kuszczak and Edwin van der Sar – have enjoyed varying stints between the posts, and all have made top-class saves to deny opposition strikers.
