Inter Milan v United, 17 March 1999
United led 2-0 from the first leg but Inter were pushing for an equaliser after Nicola Ventola's goal on the hour mark. Scholes had only been on the field 11 minutes when he was perfectly placed to sweep home Andrew Cole's knockdown to send the Reds into the Champions League semi-finals.

Tottenham v United, 27 April 2003
After going out of Europe at the hands of Real Madrid, the Reds needed to respond at White Hart Lane, with Arsenal in hot pursuit at the top of the table. After almost 70 minutes of frustration, Scholes' flick-on found Ryan Giggs, who picked out the midfielder to head United in front and on the way to three precious points.
