Gimme 5: Bagging goals

Get in the mood for New Year's Day by reliving the 5-0 win at West Brom from 2009…

The last time United went to The Hawthorns heavy traffic on the M6 delayed kick-off by 30 minutes. But that merely prolonged what many suspected was inevitable. So it proved, as the Reds ran out comfortable 5-0 winners.

In this week's Gimme 5, we thought we'd show you all the goals from that wonderful evening... and give you a taster of how some of the national press reported the result.

The Daily Mail: "Another comprehensive victory, another clean sheet and, ominously for their rivals, what is starting to look like another Premier League title for these remarkable, record-breaking men in red."

The Guardian: "United glided three points clear at the top of the table and the spree showed it is creativity that makes the reigning champions unassailable on occasions such as this. A new Premier League record of 11 consecutive clean sheets reflects their domination as much as their resilience."
