Road to Wembley: R4

When Danny Welbeck headed United in front after just six minutes Barnsley fans must have feared the worst. But it was only just before the hour-mark that Michael Owen sealed the win with an ice-cool finish in front of United's travelling fans.

In between, Barnsley created their fair share of chances, with Daniel Bogdanovic and Steve Foster both guilty of missing golden opportunities. The night was also memorable for Gabriel Obertan's debut. United supporters had waited three months to see the Frenchman and he didn't disappoint. He was lively on the left wing and showed a real willingness to take on his marker.

In the second half Gary Neville was dismissed and Fabio mistakenly booked for a challenge made by his brother Rafael (playing in central midfield) but by then the Reds already had one foot in the fifth round.
