Gimme 5: Great Scots

We look at five of the best players from north of the border to play for the Reds...

Denis Law (1962-1973): Second on United's all-time top scorers list, Law was a goal machine. A statue on the Stretford End concourse is a fitting tribute to 'The King'.

Lou Macari (1973-1984): Macari played as both a forward and midfielder for United, and won the FA Cup under Tommy Docherty in 1977. He's now a respected pundit on MUTV.

Gordon McQueen (1978-1985): The towering centre-back proclaimed on his arrival from Leeds in 1978: "99% of players want to play for Manchester United and the rest are liars."

Brian McClair (1987-1998): 'Choccy' won a glut of trophies in an illustrious Reds career. A prolific striker turned attacking midfielder, he is now United's Academy manager.

Darren Fletcher (2000-present): A tireless worker with an eye for goal, Fletch has emerged as one of the country's finest midfielders, and an integral part of the team.
