A feisty fixture in the Champions League against Rangers is just the jolt to the system that United need to overcome the frustration of two dropped points against Everton at the weekend.

The Reds players looked calm, relaxed and raring to go in Tuesday night's Group C opener judging by our behind-the-scenes gallery. All eyes were on Wayne Rooney, but it was good to see Rio Ferdinand and Anderson back in the thick of things.

It was all smiles at Carrington on Monday, and the Reds will be hoping it's the same late on Tuesday.
