Edwin van der Sar spoke first to MUTV on Thursday morning as the football world woke up to the news of his retirement from football.
The Dutchman used his exclusive interview with the club channel to confirm reports he will hang up his gloves at the end of 2010/11.
Stand-out quotes include, "At the moment I am quite happy with my form and my achievements on the pitch. I just want to [leave] that on a high level. You can’t play Superman into your 40s."
The interview was first shown on MUTV at 18:30 on Thursday.
