Video: Bolton 0-4 United

On this day (28 October) five years ago, Wayne Rooney claimed a hat-trick in United's 4-0 battering of Bolton.

The striker ended an eight-game goal drought in dramatic fashion, lashing in the opener with his left foot after only 10 minutes. A calmly-placed second when Gary Neville's run was halted soon put the visitors firmly in the driving seat.

Louis Saha teed up a simple tap-in for Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Scholes' through ball allowed Rooney to nervelessly beat Jussi Jaaskelainen for his hat-trick late on.
