Video: Vital Chicha goals

Less than 24 hours after Sunday’s Manchester derby defeat United fans had reason to smile once more as the club announced Javier Hernandez had put pen to paper on a new and improved deal.

To celebrate Chicharito’s five-year contract, which will keep him at Old Trafford until at least the end of 2015/16, we’ve dug out five of his most important goals in a Reds shirt.

Valencia 0 United 1 (29 September 2010)
Chicha’s first strike in Europe, a smart left-footed finish after a brilliant first touch, settled a tense affair at the Mestalla in the 85th minute.

Stoke 1 United 2 (24 October 2010)
After nodding the Reds in front with an inventive back-header, Hernandez won the game four minutes from time with a predatory finish.

United 1 Everton 0 (23 April 2011)
Despite insistent probing, it looked like the Reds would have to settle for a draw… until Chicha popped up with another late winner.

United 2 Chelsea 1 (8 May 2011)
No late drama here. In fact, just 36 seconds had elapsed when Hernandez sprinted clear of the Chelsea defence and slotted calmly home.
