Marcel Desailly played 222 times for Chelsea between 1998 and 2004. He was at Old Trafford to witness his beloved Blues lose 3-1 against Manchester United, but still found time to talk to ManUtd.com after the final whistle.

"It's just amazing the way Manchester United are capable of playing. The whole collective is huge."

Video: Reds amaze Desailly

Former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly labelled Manchester United "amazing" after the Reds beat Chelsea 3-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Desailly, who now works as a television pundit, spoke exclusively to ManUtd.com at the final whistle and said the only team Sir Alex's men should fear is Barcelona. Otherwise, he said, United are "capable of handling any other team".

The Frenchman also said United's impressive start to the season - the Reds have won the first five league games for the first time since 1985/86 - gives the Old Trafford outfit enough breathing space to absorb any future blip.

"United are in a position where they can afford to lose one or two games because they are already so far ahead."
