Gallery: Sporting Reds

Sir Alex and the United squad got their hands on golf's famous Claret Jug last weekend, when the Reds took a short trip to Scotland to re-energise and recharge the batteries before the season's final title push.

The pictures from St Andrew's got us thinking about occasions down the years when the lads have dipped their toes in other sports' waters (sometimes literally), so we've compiled a gallery featuring images of United stars in action away from the football pitch.

In some cases they're trying their hand at another sport (to varying levels of success), while in other instances they're merely playing the role of spectator or meeting a famous personality from the wider world of sport.
