Video: Madrid 1968

Manchester United and Real Madrid are two of European football's biggest sides, boasting 12 European Cup wins between them (Madrid 9, United 3).

The sides have faced each other on eight previous occasions – four different two-legged ties – and will meet again in this season's competition.

United travel to Madrid on Wednesday 13 February before hosting the Spanish champions at Old Trafford on Tuesday 5 March.

The clubs famously met at the semi-final stage in 1968. The Reds won 1-0 at Old Trafford before clinching a dramatic 3-3 draw at the Bernabeu in front of 125,000 fans.

We have video from the first leg in Manchester, although be warned: it's not the sharp, high-definition footage you've come to expect these days. Still, we hope you enjoy watching action from one of the most memorable European Cup ties in United's history.
