Video: Valencia v Kanchelskis

Fully recovered from an ankle injury, Antonio Valencia has been at the peak of his powers over the last couple of months, terrorising defenders with his raw pace and power.

Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola this week called Valencia "the best winger in the world right now", while Sir Alex believes the Ecuadorian is better than Andrei Kanchelskis, the Reds’ flyer of the 1990s to whom Valencia has often been likened.

"Antonio has been fantastic," Sir Alex told Inside United. "He’s such a tough guy and a powerful lad, and his work-rate and understanding of the game is terrific.

"He’s a better player than Kanchelskis. He’s got better footballing ability. Andrei was more of a runner who looked to run in behind defenders, whereas Antonio can involve himself in the possession and thread through passes and beat men."

It’s an interesting comparison and gave us an excuse to put together a video of the two wingers in action. We hope you enjoy it.
