Ahead of Sunday's FA Cup third round derby, we are looking back at previous victories at Eastlands.
United triumphed 2-0 at Manchester City in February 2005 in a hard-fought and scrappy encounter.
Wayne Rooney made the breakthrough with 22 minutes to go, seeing his shot deflect in off Richard Dunne folllowing a cross from the right by Gary Neville.
Dunne then sliced a Rooney centre past David James to register a clear own goal as the Reds secured some breathing space.
A Robbie Fowler miss helped Roy Carroll keep a clean sheet and only the woodwork denied Ryan Giggs a third for the visitors.
