ManUtd.com recalls United's recent history against the three clubs back in the Barclays Premier League for 2012/13, moving on to Southampton...
Best game: From a United perspective, we're plumping for the 3-2 win in 2004 when Louis Saha marked his debut with the opening goal - even if his free-kick took a huge diversion off Kevin Phillips. Paul Scholes doubled the lead, only for Brett Ormerod to deflect in a Phillips shot to make it 2-1. Phillips certainly claimed the equaliser with a fine strike past Tim Howard but Ruud van Nistelrooy bagged the winner to settle a cracking clash.
Best goal: In 2000, Teddy Sheringham hit a hat-trick in a 5-0 slaughter of the Saints and his first strike was a thing of beauty. A delicate chip over Paul Jones illustrated the centre-forward's class as he became the oldest player to hit a Barclays Premier League treble.
Low point: Southampton have enjoyed some famous victories against the Reds, including the infamous 'grey shirts' encounter. However, nothing will beat their 6-3 win at The Dell in 1996 with Egil Ostenstad, Eyal Berkovic and Matt Le Tissier running riot as United were in the midsts of a real sticky patch.
