Video: United v Spain

Athletic Club will become the seventh Spanish team to visit Old Trafford in competitive action in tonight's Europa League Round of 16 first leg.

We’ve played the Basque club once before, in the 1957 European Cup quarter-finals (when they were called Atletico Bilbao), but the home leg was staged at Manchester City’s Maine Road ground because Old Trafford did not have floodlights at the time.

So to honour the latest team to grace the OT turf, our video shows goals scored by United against the six other Spanish sides who have made the trip to M16 over the years: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Deportivo, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal.

United won the 1957 tie 6-5 on aggregate, turning round a 5-3 deficit with a 3-0 win in the second leg to advance to the semi-finals. You can see highlights from one of the Reds' most famous comebacks in our separate feature.
