Four players have been selected for the ManUtd.com's April Player of the Month short-list.
As the Reds clinched a 20th title, there were plenty of candidates for the accolade but we managed to whittle it down to the following quartet:
Robin van Persie is an obvious contender after slamming six goals in his last four matches. The Dutchman's outstanding performance against Aston Villa, scoring a hat-trick, was clearly one of the best individual showings of the entire campaign. Phil Jones had more Man of the Match nominations than anybody else over the period, being shortlisted four times, and was star man in the last fixture at Arsenal following an industrious display in midfield. However, his work at centre-back has also been impressive, and he was also the Reds' Man of the Match in the derby defeat to Manchester City.
Once again, Michael Carrick is a candidate after featuring in all six games in April. The midfield pivot's consistency has been first class all season, ensuring he is one of the favourites for the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award. The final name on our list is Rio Ferdinand, who is looking as good as ever at the heart of the defence. The centre-back missed only the win against Villa - when he was an unused substitute and still had time to enjoy some banter with the Stretford End before joining in with the post-match celebrations.
