Trio up for Reserves award

There are three contenders for 2013's Denzil Haroun Reserve Player of the Year Award as Warren Joyce's side continue to push for silverware.

Tom Thorpe has regularly captained the team and been a stalwart at the heart of the defence. The England Under-19 international played a number of games in a holding midfield role in the first half of the campaign to prove his versatility but has excelled in his natural centre-back slot in the Elite Group.

The Reds' outstanding defensive record also leads to Marnick Vermijl making the short-list for the prize. The Belgian right-back is always a model of consistency and gets up and down the flank in confident fashion. Also able to switch to the left-hand side, he can be proud of another assured season at this level.

18-year-old Adnan Januzaj is the final nominee after forcing his way into contention with a string of fine displays following the turn of the year. Although still eligible for Paul McGuinness' Academy side, the forward has adapted well to life at the higher level and has been an exciting addition to the squad. Although only scoring a couple of times, he has been a constant menace for defenders with his dribbling skills and undoubted flair.
