Blog: Swansea v United

campaign as we approach the final 10 minutes.

76' Ki Sung-yeung replaces Canas. Meanwhile, Rangel forces a diving stop out of De Gea after Evra had an attempt blocked at the other end.

73' Van Persie now has four goals in two games and is looking extremely sharp already. What odds on a hat-trick for the brilliant Dutchman?

72' GOAL! Rooney is starting to gel with van Persie again and his first-time pass picks out the Dutchman in space. Van Persie uses Rooney's run as a decoy and thunders a left-footed drive high into the net for his second of the game. 0-3.

71' Rangel blazes a far-post volley wide as the Welsh side continue to provide a threat. Around 20 minutes remaining.

70' Van Persie's corner is met superbly by Evra, who scored in this fixture last season, but Canas stoops to make a great clearance on the line. Close to what would have been a match-clinching third for the Reds.

65' United have a three-on-two situation when Welbeck bursts through the middle but Rooney is harshly flagged offside. It was tight - to say the least.

62' Rooney is on for Giggs. Can the striker prove his fitness? Ferdinand makes a vital headed clearance with Michu storming in behind him.

60' As van Persie fires a decent chance wide, under the challenge of Ashley Williams, the manager talks to Rooney about what looks like an imminent substitution. Bony then skids a header wide at the other end as the chances start to come at both ends.

56' A chant of 'Rooney, Rooney' comes from the away end during his warm-up routine. I wonder if he'll get to see some action as this game unfolds. Swansea are certainly starting to get on top.
