Bryan Robson nets in his last season v Norwich in 1993

Teddy errs on his debut but United beat his former club Spurs in 1997
It’s been 89 days since Manchester United’s last game of the 2012/13 Barclays Premier League season, the crazy 5-5 draw at West Bromwich Albion.
Now we’re ready for the start of the title defence at Swansea City and, to celebrate, we had a think about United's most memorable opening days in the Premier League era.
From Bryan Robson’s final league goal against Norwich City in 1993 to Ryan Giggs’ strike against Newcastle United three years ago, which extended his record of scoring in every PL season to 19, the first game of the campaign has produced some special moments.
Our video carousel above also includes David Beckham’s halfway line goal vs Wimbledon in 1996, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s league debut brace vs Fulham in 2001 and Cristiano Ronaldo’s dazzling bow vs Bolton Wanderers, which happened exactly a decade ago today, on 16 August 2003.
Watch them all in chronological order and here’s hoping for another momentous United contribution at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening.
