Costing the club a then-record £12.6million, Yorke linked up with Andy Cole - also a big signing three years previously - and the pair scored 53 goals between them in the historic Treble-winning campaign of 1998/99. When ManUtd.com caught up with the two legends recently, they discussed what made the partnership and the squad as a whole so special.
"Coley took time out to show me where to live and showed me all the places to go," said Dwight. "He even invited me to the family home and fed me! I was pretty much on my own up in Manchester, but he looked after me. So when we got that opportunity to play together, I think that helped. It was that bond we had."
"That team, with the camaraderie, gave us the edge," added Cole. "If you work together as a team, you will always get to your goals. We were all different characters, some more stubborn than others, but we married it together and came together as a very good outfit."
