CL profile: AC Milan

Genoa.

Who's the boss? Massimiliano Allegri steered Milan to the Scudetto in 2011 and second place in the following season. The ex-Cagliari coach, 46, is facing more problems this term with the San Siro outfit sitting in eighth spot in the Serie A table, some 22 points behind leaders Juventus who were, of course, eliminated from the Champions League. As a player, the midfield man represented 11 different Italian clubs between 1984 and 2003.

Have we got history? The two clubs have met 10 times in total in competitive fixtures and have crossed paths three times at the last-four stage of the European Cup. The records are very similar with both sides winning four and losing one of the home clashes and the last encounter in 2010 saw the Reds equal Milan's 4-0 winning scoreline of 1958 with David Beckham making an emotional return to Old Trafford.
