Video: United 3 Reading 2

An FA Cup quarter-final berth is up for grabs when United host Reading in the fifth round on Monday night.

The sides have already contested one of the season’s most memorable encounters, a 4-3 victory for the Reds at the Madejski Stadium in December, when all seven goals came in an astonishing first half.

There were goals in United’s last Old Trafford win over the Royals, too: back in December 2006, man-of-the-moment Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in a 3-2 triumph.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fired the Reds ahead that day but Ibrahima Sonko equalised for the visitors, before Ronaldo's brace and Sam Sodje's dismissal put Sir Alex's men in command.

Leroy Lita caused a few nerves with a late second for Reading but United came through to go six points clear at the top, en route to a first title in four seasons.

Watch highlights of the game above and here’s to a similarly entertaining game against Brian McDermott’s men on Monday.
