Third round classics

With Manchester United setting off on the road to Wembley again this weekend, we're recalling the best FA Cup third-round ties during Sir Alex Ferguson's 26-year reign.

1992: Leeds United (A) 1-0
The Reds' chief rivals for glory in 1991/92 were the Yorkshiremen and both domestic cup draws, made on the same day, conjured up testing trips to Elland Road. After winning 3-1 in the League Cup, Mark Hughes dumped the hosts out of the FA Cup with a header even if Leeds piled on the pressure. However, progress in the cups may actually have counted against United in the league with extra fixtures to play during the ill-fated title run-in.
