First thought: Welcome to Manchester United, David Moyes.
Toughest test: Chelsea are the more imposing opponents but hosting a United side with Everton's former manager in charge pumps up the pressure at Liverpool and instantly heightens the hype. Manchester's Reds won at Anfield for the first time in five years last September with a 2-1 triumph, but there's added bite to this one now.
Subplot: Jose Mourinho is the new (old) boss at Chelsea, who are real contenders to United's crown, and the press will no doubt focus on the Portuguese coach, having widely tipped him to succeed Sir Alex. For David Moyes - first choice for the Old Trafford post - it's an early chance to prove his credentials against a major rival in the title race.
