Shinji Kagawa enjoyed a promising maiden season for United in 2012/13, making 26 appearances in all competitions and scoring six goals.
A technically gifted, attacking midfielder with excellent close control and passing ability, Shinji ended up with his third consecutive league winners’ medal, following two championship triumphs in Germany with Borussia Dortmund.
The Japan international arrived from the Bundesliga outfit in June 2012, agreeing a four-year contract to become United’s first Japanese player.
Though most at home playing "in the hole" behind a centre-forward, he’s also adept out wide and was frequently deployed on the left in his first campaign at Old Trafford.
He netted on his home debut against Fulham in August 2012 and, after a knee injury ruled him out for two months between October and December, he returned to net a memorable hat-trick against Norwich.
And it seems certain he'll only get better as he continues to adapt to the English Premier League and establishes himself in the United team.
