Video: Carroll opens up

We conclude our 'When the Floodlights Fade' mini-series, featuring clips from MUTV's excellent documentaries, with Roy Carroll.

The former United keeper spoke openly about his life on and off the field as he continues to prolong his career after leaving the Reds.

The Northern Ireland international reveals meeting up with his teacher again after realising his dream of becoming a professional footballer and how nervous he was making his debut as a teenager at Hull City.

He also recalls a conversation with his agent when he first heard of Sir Alex Ferguson's interest in his services and touches upon training to be a top shot-stopper. "People don't realise how hard goalkeepers work," he insisted.

Look out for the next episode of 'When the Floodlights Fade', starring former midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba on Sunday 31 March.
