Robin van Persie once again proved his worth in front of goal this season – scoring 30 times for United and, in the process, collecting the Barclays Premier League Golden Boot award – but there's more to the Dutchman's game than merely finding the net.
During a recent trip to Rotterdam, van Persie teamed with Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena and freestyle footballer Soufiane Touzani to show off a dazzling array of skills in front of an appreciative crowd.
Sure, the tricky trio's no-look passes, stepovers and nutmegs come against children barely 10 years of age – winners of the inaugural International Robin van Persie tournament, held in Rotterdam earlier this month – but a quick watch of the video above, filmed by MUTV’s cameras, confirms each man’s supreme mastery of the ball.
MUTV followed RvP back to Holland for the tournament and enjoyed exclusive behind-the-scenes access there. The channel's documentary, which traces the fortunes of a Manchester United representative team that competed in the competition and includes a revealing interview with Robin, will air for the first time on Sunday 23 June.
