Legends assess Arsenal

On Sunday, Manchester United welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford for what promises to be a match full of passion, drama and unadulterated excitement.

The champions trail Arsene Wenger's side by eight points and hope to close that deficit by defeating the league leaders, who are also unbeaten since the opening day of the season. As a result, this fixture is arguably the biggest of the campaign so far.

To preview the game, we spoke to former United stars David May and Mickey Thomas as they filmed a special Christmas challenge at the Aon Training Complex. Encouragingly, both are confident that the Reds can prosper at the Theatre of Dreams.

“I'm expecting goals on Sunday,” May explained. “We've been creating a lot of chances and scoring goals recently - and Arsenal are flying, so I expect a great game. I feel confident. We've been on a good run and this would be a big win for us. Hopefully we can do it.”

Echoing a similar sentiment, Thomas said: “We know we have to play to our full potential to beat them. We're at home with 75,000 fans and hopefully the crowd can lift the team. We've had big games before and come out on top and expect us to do the same again.”
