Video: Leverkusen 2002

As the Reds prepare to face Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, take a look at highlights of how United claimed victory the last time the Reds visited the BayArena in 2002.

Memories were fresh from the German side's aggregate win in the semi-final of the previous season, but two first-half strikes from Ruud van Nistelrooy put United in the driving seat.

A 21-year-old Dimitar Berbatov served early notice of his prodigious talents when he pulled one back for Leverkusen after half-time, but his goal was not enough and it would be another six years before he joined United following a subsequent spell with Tottenham.
