While Danny Welbeck is missing England's friendlies through injury, we're reminiscing about the day he scored on his Premier League debut for Manchester United - five years ago this weekend.
Welbeck, then 17, came on as a substitute for Ji-sung Park just after the hour mark at Old Trafford and then, with little over five minutes remaining, he netted the fourth goal in a 5-0 victory over Stoke City.
"We were 3-0 up and I was told to get ready," Danny recalled in 2009. "I was so over the moon and I just started to think about it; I'm going to be playing in front of a massive crowd, shooting towards the Stretford End and in front of millions of fans watching on TV.
"Obviously it was nerve-wracking, but I quickly just tried to drown everything else out and focus on my game, concentrating on trying to play to the best of my ability."
He certainly managed that as he crashed in a stunning effort from 25 yards just 20 minutes into his first-ever Premier League appearance.
"I knew the defender was coming up behind me - and I knew that it was [Ryan] Shawcross, who I'd played with in the youth team at United - so I played a one-two with Manucho and from then on I just hit it," he continued.
"Why not take a shot in that situation? It's your league debut and your team is already winning 3-0. So that's what I did, I had nothing to lose and it just went straight into the top corner."
Welbeck has gone on to score 22 goals for United in all competitions and has found the net eight times in 20 games for
