Video: Carrick interview

Michael Carrick clearly can't wait to get back on the pitch for Manchester United after agreeing to extend his career with the club.

Speaking exclusively to MUTV, the Reds midfielder admitted he was "delighted" with his new deal but frustrated to be out of action at the moment.

"To be sitting out a number of games is very frustrating really," Carrick said. "But it's part of the game and I've just got to deal with it. I've got to focus on rehab and on getting fit as soon as possible."

Michael might be one of the most successful players in English football - with honours won including five league titles and one Champions League crown - but he says there's still more to achieve, starting with "whatever the next game throws up, whatever competition that's in."

He added: "We're still in four major competitions this season and we're going to try hard in every game to achieve success in some way. There's always a goal to head for."
