Last time in Ukraine

Rio Ferdinand scored his only goal in Europe for Manchester United so far when the Reds last visited Ukraine, in October 2007 as Dynamo Kiev were beaten 4-2.

The centre-back powered home a header from Ryan Giggs' free-kick to give the visitors an early lead, to which Wayne Rooney added a simple second following a lightning break by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Diogo Rincon pulled one back for Dynamo but two goals either side of half-time by Ronaldo, the second from the penalty spot, made the game safe, before Ismael Bangoura drove in a late consolation for the hosts.

United won the reverse fixture at Old Trafford 4-0 a fortnight later and, of course, went on to lift the trophy that season on a glorious rainy night in Moscow.
