Having lost at Anfield last time out, United returned to winning ways in the Barclays Premier League via a 2-0 victory over newly-promoted Crystal Palace.

All eyes were on Reds' new boy Marouane Fellaini, who made his debut from the bench in the second half following his deadline-day switch from Everton.

In the stands, Sir Alex Ferguson was also in attendance, watching his managerial successor David Moyes earning his first win as Reds boss at Old Trafford.

In the end, two set pieces at the end of each half proved decisive for the Reds with attacking duo Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney both on the scoresheet against the 10-men Eagles.

Thankfully, official club photographers John and Matt Peters captured every twist and turn - and we've compiled a gallery of their best shots from Saturday's game.
