United go into Saturday's game on the back of a ten-day break. As a player what can a mid-season rest, mentally and physically, do for a group of players?
It'll have a big impact. If you look at players now, especially at the top end of the game and with the World Cup in the summer, it's 12-months-a-year football. That's very hard on the body, it's hard not to pick up injuries and to avoid feeling jaded, so to have the odd weekend where United don't have a game and to go away is a good ploy by David Moyes. It's good for the players to go away, get together, have a bit of team bonding, it can only bode well.
It's a Tony Pulis team, though, so is it back to reality with a bump?
It will be back with a bump, yeah, because Tony Pulis has totally transformed Crystal Palace. I saw them a few times earlier this season and they looked certain for relegation. He's come in and in the last eight games they've shown better form. Defensively they are very good and it'll be a tough game for United.
So, what's the key for United then – what are you looking for as a fan?
Three points! United need to score first because Crystal Palace are very good at getting behind the ball and frustrating teams. If they get their noses in front they can be very hard to break down. So maybe a first-half goal would give United a cushion and force Palace out a little bit. I'm sure if United play to their maximum and key players play well on the day then we should come away with three points.
