In March 1990, a fifth-round tie in Manchester resulted in a 2-0 triumph for Eric Harrison's side with Colin McKee and Craig Lawton netting the goals. Mark Bosnich was between the posts for United during his first spell at the club and, coincidentally, the first assignment in that particular season was an away draw with Burnley - the same club the Reds beat to set up this week's trip to Leicester.

Youth Cup connections

Mark Robins played first-team football for both Manchester United and Leicester City, but he was still learning his trade at Old Trafford when the sides met in the FA Youth Cup in 1987.

Robbins is now manager of Huddersfield Town – the Terriers' U18s will be the next opponents for the winners between the Reds and the Foxes in Thursday's Youth Cup tie.
