Ashley Young has backed his Manchester United team-mates to help England and Belgium achieve success at this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The Reds winger was unfortunately overlooked for Roy Hodgson’s Three Lions squad but remains a massive fan of the prestigious tournament. Like most football fans, he will be watching every minute of every match in South America.
After tipping England to win the competition during an exclusive interview with ManUtd.com – “I'm not going to turn around and say anybody else” – Young explained why Adnan Januzaj and Marouane Fellaini are both well-placed for success.
“Belgium are a team full of good players and we have got a couple at our place,” said Ashley. “They are a great team with a lot of players who play in the Premier League at a very high level. I think they could be the dark horse of the tournament."
In the same interview, Young also recalled his earliest memories of watching the World Cup and discussed the best team performance he’s ever seen in the finals.
