Video: Wilson's 13/14 goals

James Wilson enjoyed an extraordinary 2013/14 campaign, scoring at every level for the club, making a two-goal Manchester United first-team debut and claiming the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award.

His stats say it all. For the U18s: nine goals in 10 games; U19s in the UEFA Youth League: five goals in six appearances; U21s and Reserves: eight goals in 12 matches; and his one first team outing yielded two goals. A total of 24 goals in 29 games is an impressive tally, proving he can consistently find the net in whichever competition he plays in.

The variety of styles of goals stands out too, as you can see from our video, and it's something that pleases the Staffordshire-born striker. "They've all been different," he told United Uncovered. "I've scored some where I've beaten a few players and, more recently, I've scored from outside the box. They're different as I don't usually score from long range, usually I work the space inside the area."

Wilson's double in the first team's 3-1 win over Hull announced his burgeoning potential to the wider football world. "The first one was just sheer euphoria," he says. "Then the second was great too. Just to play at Old Trafford for the U21s is a brilliant experience. But with all the fans there it was even better."
