Make no mistake... Rio Ferdinand was an A-list star from day one at Manchester United, as comfortable in front of the cameras as he was on the ball.
Any notion of stage fright at the Theatre of Dreams was instantly dismissed by the dazzling white suit he wore for his unveiling as Sir Alex Ferguson's then-record signing in July 2002 and he was soon producing performances befitting his big-name status - and befitting a player charged with great responsibility at the heart of the Reds' defence.
If preventing goals at one end of the pitch was his profession at United, savouring them at the other end was his passion. No matter who hit the net - and the defender contributed the occasional strike himself - you could rely on Rio to be among or atop the huddle of players congratulating the scorer. And when it came to celebrating trophies, few could rival Ferdinand in the party-starting stakes from seizing the mic to spraying champagne.
Our video captures both the action and the entertainment from the centre-back's United career... thanks for the memories, Rio.
