Betting League update
United fans weren't the only ones surprised by the result in the UEFA Super Cup on Friday night.
The pre-match odds had been stacked heavily in United's favour and, as a consequence, just one of the five pundits in the ManUtd.com/Betfred Betting League came up trumps.
Only The Stat Man (United Review's Nick Coppack) made any money, with his bet that the match would produce more than 2.5 goals. Before Friday's match, seven of the last eight Super Cup fixtures had featured three or more goals, and Nemanja Vidic's 73rd-minute strike extended that record to eight from nine.
It was The Stat Man's first win of the season and lifted him from the bottom of the table. That unenviable slot is now occupied by The Tipster (MUTV presenter Mark Pearson).
The Legend (Lou Macari) and The Bookie (Betfred's Fred Done) top the league.
