Reds draw Jose's Inter

United will meet Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan side in the first knockout stage of this season's Champions League competition.

The Reds will play the first leg away from home at the San Siro on Tuesday 24 February. The return leg will be at Old Trafford on Wednesday 11 March.

The sides have met twice before in European competition, in the 1998/99 season when United went on to win the European Cup. The Reds beat Inter 2-0 at Old Trafford in the quarter-final first leg on that occasion before drawing 1-1 in Italy.

Elsewhere, Chelsea will play Juventus, Arsenal face AS Roma and Liverpool must beat Real Madrid to progress to the quarter-final stage.

Other ties (not involving English sides): Villarreal v Panathinaikos, Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid v FC Porto and Olympique Lyonnais v Barcelona.

More to follow, including exclusive reaction to the draw from within the United camp in Japan.
