Hargreaves going strong

Owen Hargreaves will step up his return from tendonitis by resuming football training as early as next week.

And Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that the England international, out of action for over a year with his persistent knee complaints, could make a playing return in little over a month.

“He’s working with the physio that was with him in America and our own physios, and he is doing very well, we’re really pleased,” Sir Alex told his Tuesday press conference.

"He’s delighted to be back, obviously. It’s been a long time for the kid. I think we’ll get him into football training in 10 days' time.

"Then, depending how well he does with that, he should be back for the beginning of November, I’d hope."
