April was a month of mixed fortunes for the Reds.
Sir Alex's men won three of the month's five fixtures, including a memorable Manchester derby and a must-win league game against an in-form Tottenham Hotspur. The other win was a victory in name only: the Reds beat Bayern Munich 3-2 but still crashed out of Europe on the away goals rule. Elsewhere, there was a demoralising defeat against title rivals Chelsea and a frustrating draw at Ewood Park.
In such a tumultuous month, no United player stood head and shoulders above the rest. But we've selected four players whose April performances we feel are worthy of winning a ManUtd.com Player of the Month award.
Nani rediscovered his scoring touch in April, netting two against Bayern (one a contender in our Goal of the Season award) and another against Tottenham. He made an instant impact when brought on against Chelsea and Manchester City and was among the Reds' star performers against both Bayern and Spurs.
